“PICTURE US is an exploration; it is an honest window into the corners of the Asian American and Pacific Islander experience during a year of collective trauma, as our community was targeted as the cause for the COVID-19 pandemic. It is an inquiry into the differential tension between our own understanding of how the world sees us and how we see ourselves as a community. Picture a world where our identities and communities are able to be in mainstream media and be seen for all its excellence. That\u2019s not the moment we live in, but in this publication that is what we aim to capture and celebrate. 30% of proceeds will be donated to the Asian Prisoners Support Committee. Founded in 2002, the APSC is one of the few organizations in the country dedicated to providing services to Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who are incarcerated and formerly incarcerated. The organization, led by formerly incarcerated AAPIs, works primarily with the San Quentin and Solano state prison populations and the re-entry population in Oakland and nearby.
